Most entrepreneurs I know are never short on ideas. ✋ (guilty!)
What we’re short on is WHOs.
There are always new opportunities, rocks, special projects and “we should really…” ideas competing for our attention. Some need to move now. Some can wait. Some probably shouldn’t happen at all.
But once you’ve WHO’d up the business and now find that every new idea will require you to figure out the HOW, it's time for your next big delegation.
LEADERSHIP REFRAME
A Fractional Chief of Staff is your new favorite WHO. Their job is to help move your agenda forward.
Your Chief of Staff helps you:
They become the undistractable bridge between:
“I have an idea…”
and
“It’s happening.”
NOTICE THIS WEEK
Pay attention to how often you say:
These are all signs that your ideas don’t have enough “who” infrastructure around them.
TRY THIS
☕ Grab a coffee and a block of quiet time. Draft out a list of all of the ideas, rocks, projects and “someday” initiatives you’re currently carrying.
Now force each one into one of four buckets:
NOW — important enough to move this quarter
NEXT — worth protecting for a future quarter
WHO — ready to move, but needs the right person attached
NO — interesting, but not important enough to keep carrying
Then look at your NOW list.
If you’re still the person who has to define each project, get the pieces aligned and keep it moving, your next big delegation is to a Chief of Staff. 💪
Helping you lead with less,
Emily
